Recommended Hardware For A Full System.

While POSM will run on almost all computers, it is recommend that a fast machine is used to optimize clip creation, video, and DVD creation.

1. OS: Windows XP Professional.
2. Memory: 1024 MB (A minimum 512 MB of ram should be used).
3. Hard Drive: 160 GB or greater. Whole run MPEG encoding can use a lot of space.  Larger hard drives can store more video. A RAID 1 Mirroring array is recommended to prevent data loss while running in vehicles.
4. CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo or Quad Core for high quality clip capture. (POSM will run on slower CPU's, but MPEG 4 capture will lose quality).
5. Live Video, Picture, and Clip Capture: While POSM supports most WDM capture sources, we recommend the Kworld DVD Maker USB 2 adapter.
6. MPEG Encoder: Darim Mpegator4, provides MPEG 1, 2, 4 and DivX hardware encoding for POSM whole run video capture.
7. Text Overlay: Decade Engineering XBOB-4E (Connects to the serial port to put text on the video screen and counts the cable distance).
8. Video Sync Restore Time Base Corrector: AVT-8710 (This device will improve video output from your camera, and fix any bad video signals to help MPEG and VCR recording.  Make sure to put this device into NTSC (or PAL) mode, not automatic!).
   
9. Video Splitter: 4-Way A/V Distribution Amplifier (It is not recommend to use cables to split the video as needed. An amplified video splitter will ensure good video quality).
